August Prayer Guide & Growth Through Accountability

Hi friend,
The photo above is a few of my dear small group friends. We aren’t exactly sure what year we started meeting—somewhere around 2010—but we’ve walked through life together for well over a decade. We’ve grown in number (there are about 12 more not pictured), and we’ve shared in celebrations, heartaches, answered prayers, and the everyday ups and downs. Each week we meet to study the Bible, pray, and encourage one another. Even during the pandemic, we found a way—using an app some teens told us about called “House Party.” We’ve learned that regardless of what’s going on, we show up.
Years ago, we used to take a summer break. But we realized that restarting in the fall was hard, and we often drifted during that time. So now, we stay consistent.
Webster’s defines accountability as “an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one's actions.” That’s what this group does for me. We pick materials that help us grow, and through the grace extended by others and the truth of Scripture, I’ve grown. The Holy Spirit uses our conversations to deepen my understanding in ways I couldn’t reach on my own.
If you don’t have a group like this, I encourage you to start one. The best place to begin is at your church. Not all of us go to the same church—but we serve the same God, and that’s what matters.
August Prayer Guide
Consistency in prayer changes things—especially our own hearts. One of the ways I stay consistent is by praying Scripture. It keeps me engaged. The August Prayer Guide is ready for you now. I hope you’re keeping a record of your prayers, too. This morning, I found some prayer sheets from as far back as 2013. What a gift it was to look back and see how many prayers the Lord has answered!

Book Update 📚
The final book cover poll came in—and the one above was the favorite! It may get a few small updates, but I’ll keep you posted.
Today I submitted a full outline of all 14 chapters to my publisher, Hope Books, with a brief summary of each chapter’s content. Next up: submitting a sample chapter for review to be sure I’m on track. I hope I am!
Thank you for your continued encouragement, feedback, and prayers. If there’s anything I can pray for in your life, please don’t hesitate to reply and let me know. I’m truly grateful to walk this journey with you.
Much love,
Bonnie
