Hi friend!
In 2024 I have made my best attempts at slowing down. Long walks, more solitude, less scrolling and more sleep. Some days are glorious and some are a battle all day long. Surely you can relate. From a slower pace, I have noticed clearer thinking, more prayers and a greater feeling of joy. If you are on board for slowing down, social media can be a deterrent. It is used for much good like prayer requests and keeping in touch with family as well as resources, but NO ONE is designed for a constant stream of all the other that comes with it. It tires the soul. As we limit our scrolling, you may have missed my informal poll this week on Facebook & Instagram. You may not be on socials at all, so here is a recap below.
This is a good visual of the book I am writing. It is for Christian women who have endured a trauma so that they can see purpose in the midst of their pain.
What does that have to do with an abandoned liquor still? Once it was vibrant, now it is broken. Should circumstances around the still change, it will be unsettled from its current position and forced to adapt in some way. From those who observe it, everything appears to be just fine. Can it be restored? Yes. With lots of hard work. End of word picture because God restores and the still has no hope for that.
That still is a lot like me in the face of trauma and then repeated trauma. Those are sometimes referred to as big T’s and little t’s. If you have read this far, thanks!! Please tell me:
Do you think my reader would prefer a full-length book or a devotional?
Feel free to reply to this via email if you haven’t expressed your opinion already.
As we prepare for a new month, grab your prayer journal (any notebook will do) and insert the page or copy the verses from the October Prayer Guide found here. May your October bring a lovely view of turning leaves, more prayers and feelings of joy from drawing nearer to Him. That is my prayer for you!
In a spirit of hope,
Bonnie
